10 Preludes, Op. 23 by Sergei Rachmaninoff
Jazper Saldana came to me in the Spring of 2019 asking if I would learn Rachmaninoff's Prelude No. 5 arranged for marimba duet to record with him. I quickly agreed, but our project was delayed a few times. We eventually added two more preludes and were able to record in the fall of 2020.

Merlin by Andrew Thomas
Premiered in 1987 by William Moersch, Merlin has become a staple of the solo marimba repertoire. The first movement chorale evokes an unsettled feeling with its harmony and unpredictability. The second movement utilizes rhythmic and melodic vigor throughout, building to an energetic conclusion.

Last Day of the Year by Sean Hamilton
I commissioned a duet for saxophone and marimba from my good friend Sean Hamilton in the Fall of 2019. The result was this piece: a graphic score with an open instrumentation. The entire work is to be improvised off of a few musical suggestions arranged around a wheel in four quadrants.

The Odyssey, According to Penelope by Kevin Bobo
This piece by Kevin Bobo is, in my opinion, one of the great new works for the marimba. Each movement has it's own sense of character and adventure while still adhering to the whole. The work is a pleasure to perform despite the technical struggle it will always hold.

We Shall Be Turned by Judd Greenstein
This piece captured me from the moment I heard it for the first time. There is something about the harmony and the texture that I can not put my finger on, but that makes this piece so special. This performance is from my 3rd DMA Recital that was in September 2016.

Rhapsody for Marimba: NIght Rhapsody by John Serry
This performance of one of the all-time great masterworks for the marimba, the infamous Night Rhapsody, is from my 2nd DMA recital at UNT in the Spring of 2015.

Kyoto by John Psathas
Here is a video of Kyoto by John Psathas that I was fortunate enough to perform with the UNT Percussion Ensemble in the Spring of 2016. Other performers on this piece are Austin Cernosek, Adam Davis, Chris Livernois, and Jazper Saldana.

Table Music by Thierry de Mey
I performed this piece with James Cromer and Greg Messa at Indiana University in the Spring of 2013. The fantastic camera work was done by Evan Chapman.

Here is a video of a performance of Over the Rainbow by Harold Arlen and arranged by Max Leth.

The Noble Snare by Stuart Saunders-Smith
The title work of the Noble Snare collection is one of my favorites. Smith has the incredible gift to create highly complex polyrhythmic structures while never losing a sense of phrase and musical character.
